This seemed to be the best option on Amazon based on price/performance. Set up was a bit involved - you have to download and install a driver - but once you've done that it connects a Thunderbolt-only MacBook Air to a router with no fuss. It's literally plug & play, and download speeds are vastly better than with Wi-Fi. Highly recommended for anybody who can run an Ethernet cable to their desk.

SIIG USB Type C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

With many of the new laptops lacking ethernet connectors, this type of adapter becomes necessary. My 9 year old Lenovo T61 recently bit the dust so I replaced it with a Dell 14-5000. This computer is used primarily when I travel and the rest of the time sits on top of a file cabinet attached to my local network where it is synced with my desktop unit. Since the Dell lacks ethernet, I tried the SIIG adapter and plugged it into the Dell's USB C port. It works perfectly, even bringing the computer out of hibernate with a Magic Packet. Fast.com indicates I am getting internet download speeds of 270 and uploads of 93 on my 250 Mbps FiOptics connection. I couldn't be more pleased.

The USB Type-C GigE adapter from SIIG worked exactly as expected. I unboxed it, plugged it into my laptop's Type-C port, plugged in my Cat6 cable...watch the lights flicker and was connected to my wired LAN.No driver install on my windows 10 laptop as it was pre-loaded in the system already.All in all, a very painless and pleasant experience!

SIIG Superspeed Type C to Gigabit Ethernet adapter

The adapter arrived quickly and attached it to my laptop C Type port and router and it tested out perfectly using Windows 10. Since laptops have become much thinner, they do not have Ethernet ports on them. Will be using the adapter to install new future routers.
