      Docking station

Using this as a docking station for a portable computer. I needed a way to connect multiple monitors, charge electronic devices, USB for a wireless keyboard and mouse combination, and a port for micro-SD cards. This has worked extremely well so far 0 the monitors connected without issue, the USB-C port on the front has worked great to charge my wireless earbuds. The docking station itself is solid and sturdy. It included necessary power adapter and even a stand to hold the docking station upright. The only downside is the docking station cannot be used for my company laptop for a couple reasons (1) drivers are required that have not been approved by the IS team, and (2) the laptop requires a much higher power supply (240W). However, for my portable PC (mini computer) that is not connected to the company network, this docking station has worked excellent with no issues. It gives me the ability to access files, videos, and pictures on micro-SD cards that I didn't have before.

not the best I've tried but still great

I actually wanted to try out their different model from this brand (SIIG Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station), but I only had the option to try this one.For now, I like the performance of this docking station as it does its advertised job without any issues. The functions work quite well without any delays, which is the most important thing in my book.I also like that it comes with the option to place it vertically, which definitely helps make the docking station cooler as I never turn off mine once connected, and I also work long hours during the busy season.I am not using this docking station for setups that require high performance (like gaming or designing), so this will do just fine for my everyday general work.By the way, I only set this up last week, so it’s too early for me to comment on its longevity, but the material quality feels quite durable. If this one fails me unexpectedly, I will update my review.I think the cost performance in terms of overall quality, including performance vs. price, is quite good.

Priced nicely, works well on M3 MacBook Air

I picked this up for my sister, who recently got an M3 MacBook Air. She's an artist, and has a drawing tablet that requires both a USB-A connection for power, and then HDMI. She didn't like the cheap hubs you can find, and didn't want to spend $200-$300 on a thumberbolt hub.I happened to come across this for just over $100, which is a great deal. It includes all the ports she needs, and more. The one side has the power port, two HDMI, a USB-C, USB-A, and an ethernet port. The other side has the card readers, two USB-C, and another USB-A. Hooking it up to her new M3 MacBook Air was a synch, and it works as expected with her drawing tablet and other needs. The one other big thing I liked about this is the ability to stand it either vertically or horizontally. It includes a stand that allows you to orient the hub/dock exactly like you'd like. Pretty slick in my mind. For the price, this is just great. It's not going to give you thunderbolt, but does give you pretty good speeds for the price, especially since it's a powered dock. Well worth the $110 it's currently going for.

Functional USB docking station with smokin' fast data transfer speeds

If you're someone who travels extensively and works on the road you're never going to have enough USB and other ports on your laptop. That's just a fact of life. I've got the latest model of a high end, brand name laptop manufacturer. From a performance standpoint, it's a beast. It has a whopping *3* USB ports--all USB-C. The power cord occupies one of them, so that gives us only two. If you use an external mouse, there goes one more. That's my situation--I basically have one USB-C port for anything else I need to attach. This doesn't even consider the need for USB-A ports. Since I travel/work at least half of the year, that won't get it done.Another important realization about docking hubs: just adding a few more ports via a USB hub isn't enough. For starters, you need a powered USB hub if you're going to be doing anything serious. I'll sometimes be in a city for a month or two and in that case I want to attach a monitor or two. I'll be using my laptop as a 'desktop replacement' during my extended stay and that requires different options than just taking it down to the local coffee shop to do some work. There's also the need to be prepared for as many situations as possible and that requires more connection options of a wider variety. This means that a USB C docking hub is a 'must have' for any remote worker. I've gone through a number of these devices and until recently I've been really obsessed with form factor and size. Obviously, I want the smallest, sleekest and lightest possible device that will do the job I need it to do. I've learned something about USB C docking hubs in recent months--There's no 'one size fits all' criteria that you can apply to devices of this type. Like many people, I frequently use my laptop when I'm *not* traveling. When I have laptop work to do at the office--and form factor isn't an issue--I want the biggest, burliest, most substantial and multi-functional USB docking hub made. What's more, I learned that not everyone has the same needs from a USB hub that I do. Some people need to power multiple displays, for example, whereas I don't in most situations. Some people need faster data transfer, SD card adapters, etc. I learned the valuable lesson that the world is full of many different people with different needs. That's why there's so many different size, shapes, brands and functionalities in the USB docking hub world. And maybe, just maybe, I learned a little bit about myself. The SIIG USB bocking station 11 in 1 dual display USB C docking station is a good balance between form and functionality. It's not the sleekest device on the market, but it's small enough and very light. It weighs in under a pound. For the size and weight, it packs a pretty heavy punch with speedy USB data transfer, speedy network data transfer, two HDMI ports, a SD card port, a USB c charging port, 2 USB 3.0 standard ports (for USB-A connections), three USB C ports, a 3.5mm auxiliary jack and even a Gigabit Ethernet port.Overall, a good balance between portability and power. Given the performance and versatility it provides, it's a pretty decent value at the price point. Highly recommended!
