Great for older thunderbolt 3 devices.

I have an old iMac with the old Thunderbolt 2 ports that are not USB-C. You have to use the Apple adapter to connect it to a Thunderbolt 3 hub to actually use it. The problem is Thunderbolt 3 hubs were more expensive than Thunderbolt 4 hubs. So, since Thunderbolt 4 was backward compatible, I got one of those first. The problem was that it was unstable and crashed a lot. So, I was excited to give this Thunderbolt 3 hub a shot. I was not disappointed. It fixed all my crashes and let me plug my old Thunderbolt 4 hub into it, making the whole system more stable. It was easily capable of maxing out the speeds of my Thunderbolt 2 iMac. The display had no problem and connected flawlessly.

      Nice, but one flaw

Since the Item's web page has a good description and photos, I will not add any more description (other than what is already stated) or photos.First off, the is one flaw (at least for me) I found with the device. Using my previous USB-C dock, everything was working fine with the cables and devices I had connected. Once I plugged everything into the SIIG Thunderbolt 3 dock everything worked, except for my external HDMI monitor.I contacted Tech support through the website and Amazon messaging, and they replied back within a day or two and asked if I was using an "Active" cable or adapter.Finding an "Active" cable was not as easy as you would think. Some vendors don't state if their cable or Adapters is "Passive" or "Active". Also "Active" cables are double the price then regular "Passive" cables.Nowhere in the product description, manual, or website stating an "Active" cable was required. I am not saying it's a design flaw, but they could have designed it to use either type.As far as the monitor use, using a Windows 10 compatible laptop device, I was able to extend my laptop display to the external monitor, not just mirror. The dock seems to be a bit thick (1"), then other docks I've usedOnce I got it up and running, the device is working as designed. I haven't done much heavy use of it yet, other than doing standard office applications and connecting VPN to work. but it seems to be a good device.

      works very well

The SIIG Thunderbolt 3 or USB C Dual 4K Display Docking Station with 60W Laptop Charging - Titan Ridge (1x USB 3.0, 2X USB 3.1, 2X DP 1.2, 2X USB-C, Ethernet) for Windows PC & MacBook Pro JU-DK0C11-S1This is a Thunderbolt 3 dock, that can run your monitors, charge your laptop, and give you various USB ports, there is also a network port. The dock is well made, and so far working exactly as it should. I just edited a very large photography project using this dock. Moving files from one hard drive to another. Dragging things to and from a NAS thorough the network port, and uploading final files to the internet again through the network port. All ports functioning very well. Of note one of the USB ports is faster than the other two, but I absolutely love that there are two USB C ports as well. A very modern and necessary feature. You should also be aware that there are two display ports and no HDMI, which is fine and good, but you should be aware of what ports your monitor has. Overall I am very happy with this dock. The only thing I think is odd for my use case anyway, is the Thunderbolt computer hookup is on the front. I would prefer it be on the back, but that may not matter to you. One more thing to note is that there is no other Thunderbolt ports for daisy chaining Thunderbolt equipment. Only the USB C ports. The fact that this is such a great dock at such a reasonable price, makes me not miss that too much at this point, but extra Thunderbolt is great to have, but usually costs far more for that feature. Overall just the ability to have one plug going to your MacBook just makes this so useful for me. I love unplugging the one cable and throwing my laptop in my bag and go. Then when I get home, plug it back in and just get to work. no set up, no need for power just plug in and everything works. If you are using mac, make sure to remember to eject the hard drives before unplugging. Overall this is an awesome dock at a great price. I am very grateful to have it as part of my computer setup.
