Run the cable once, and forget it's even there.

With my projector on one side of a thoroughfare and my speakers on the other, behind the screen, I've spent years dealing with trying to get bluetooth setups properly switched. You can save yourself the trouble by going with this and a flat ethernet cable. No settings to lose when things power cycle, just solid audio. Definitely a device you're paying a premium to forget about entirely, and well worth it.

Super cool way to get audio to your rear channel speakers.

I have a bunch of ethernet drops all over, and seem to always be adding more... so, when I was doing my 7.2 surround setup I was super excited to try these out for my rear fills, after having bad luck with wireless rear fill speakers in the past. There is no perceivable latency with these... and just to put it to the test, I ran it over 1000ft of Cat5e (bundled too, so realistically there's probably more interference) and it just worked! Super impressed. I've got three sets of these now running rear left and right and a rear fill sub.

Works as described with no dropouts or hiccups

This digital audio extender set from SIIG did exactly what I needed it to do. S/PDIF in, ethernet for 85 feet or so, S/PDIF out, Digital 5.1 playback as if the decoding amplifier was right there next to the source device. I've trusted SIIG for various computer adapters and accessories for as long as I can remember, so I was more than willing to take a chance on this extender from them. I'm glad I did. Score one for the "it just works" category.

Provides professional Quality Images!

This product is as advertised, which is important to me. The Extender allows the versatility to transmit Optical or Audio output over Ethernet Cable at great distances. Very satisfied.

Works like a charm!

I had quite some distance between my TV and my audio receiver and these were exactly what I needed to get a direct connection for my surround sound! I was previously using Bluetooth, but the audio delay was driving me crazy, these have been an absolute sanity saver for sure!If you have a home theater, or just a larger than average living room with your AV receiver away from your TV, these are a must have!

Works well. Compact.

This is handy if you have long runs of Cat 5 cable and need to feed audio to another location. Only needs power on one end. Sound is fine and doesn't seem to degrade the audio. It's digital from end to end, so it should not alter the digital signals anyway. Compact boxes and they are easy to hide behind your equipment.

Problem solving remote audio solution. Powered over the cable.

This is a pair of extender boxes that allow you to transmit an optical or digital S/PDIF audio signal over a long distance. It's perfect for something like tying a permanent installation of a remote subwoofer into an audio system.Input supports only one of the two jacks - this is a single stream system which takes input from either audio or coax. Once the input is in, though, the output works with both ports simultaneously, so this could be used as a really complex splitter or a really complex optical<>digital converter. Convenient if your source uses one type but your destination uses the other. My favorite feature is that this transmits the power for the extender over the cable. The other SIIG extender for HDMI that I tested didn't support this, and it's actually pretty frustrating to need a power strip at the destination just to operate a converter box; this avoids that problem and means you only need to worry about powering your audio device at the destination. Convenient!

eliminates need for optical signal rectifiers - works great - the signal is already digital

this is a great product for taking your SPDIF or optical signal waay out there, with absolutely zero errors or degradation. that's the miracle of a digital protocol. at certain lengths, this pays for itself over super long runs of optical. thanks!!
