Q: If i were to run 3 1080p monitors at 60hz each and be using only 36% bandwidth, wouldn't i be able to run 3 1080p at 120hz and be using 72% bandwidth?
When connected to a DisplayPort 1.4 graphics card, you can run 3 1080p monitors at 120hz each. DisplayPort 1.4 has a maximum total data rate of 25.92Gbit/s, one 1080p monitor at 120Hz data rate needs 6.59Gbit/s, and 3 1080p monitors at 120hz can use 19.77Gbit/s data rate (76%).
